Moving Nigeria forward will take more than the effort of one man. It involves the coming together of like minds who know what to do and how to go about achieving goals without being sentimental. Nigerians should work together with the government in ensuring that it becomes a safe place to live. A corruption-free Nation does not spring up in one day, it takes the effort of different personalities to achieve that.
A lot of times, the public officials are not to blame because many Citizens are corrupt and they are involved in inappropriate deals. A group of people comprising of Civil Servants and Entrepreneurs complained that the management of the Estate where they reside; Sunshine Estate around Kugbo is planning to send them packing from their houses which are supposed to be a low-cost housing estate.
The Spokesperson, Lami Ayuba who is a Town Planner expatiated by giving a pictorial illustration. From her illustration, the Estate management got over 512 hectares of land since 2004 and it is only 5% of the land that is developed. Other areas are bushy and uninhabitable.
The complaint now is that frantic efforts are being made to push out those who already inhabit the developed portion of the land. The Ordinary President called Dr. Jummai who said she doesn’t have a say in the matter but will try to investigate and find a way around it.
On the NFF issue, Tunde Aderibigbe said there were several moves to shut him up. That is, a lot of people have proposed that he is paid off to stop the unveiling he is involved in with his colleagues. An instance is that, the NFF president, Amaju Pinnick called a friend of Tunde and asked to speak to Tunde.
He then told Tunde to name anywhere he would love to go as he was ready to foot his trip bills, that is, he would be willing to give Tunde an all-expense-paid trip if only he would stop pursuing what he began.
Shehu Gara-Gombe commended the whistleblowers but frowned at them for attending any meeting with Amaju which looked more like bait. Though Emmanuel Babayaro said they were offered N800, 000 but they declined while some others accepted it.
Gara Gombe further addressed the Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare’s move. He said he expected more from him but he on assumption to office did not create a standard for himself and that’s what makes him susceptible to whatever impression anyone creates of him. He said after the statement by the Ordinary President, he should have gotten his media aide to address the issue.
And on the other hand, if that appears not to be visible enough, he would have employed the services of the Legal Department in his Ministry. Involving Festus Keyamo’s chamber only complicated the issue and raised suspicions.
