Today marked the 100th appearance of SERVICOM in the Brekete Family Talk Magazine and Reality Program. In light of this attainment, the Ordinary President appreciated the leadership of SERVICOM; Madam Nnenna Akajemele and the members of staff who are proactive and working hand in hand to make things work out.
He said before she resumed office, SERVICOM barely had recognition but her assumption of office struck a chord and brought it to life. Though she was absent, he described her as humble, hardworking and dedicated to delivering service excellently and reconnecting service providers to receivers.
Mrs. Jumai Abdullahi and Mr. Tony Ochilebe who represented SERVICOM equally described her as an extraordinary woman and a selfless leader who motivates them to do what’s required of them in their various designated offices.
As expected, SERVICOM came with representatives of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to educate and present Nigerians with opportunities to embrace as regards health matters.
The Scheme is believed to be a social health insurance program that was designed to complement and ensure that Nigerians access health care services. The representatives Abdulsalam Omar and Ewere Kingsley were bombarded with loads of questions from the Ordinary President.
These questions were meant to awaken them and help them realize they have been lagging behind in the delivery of service. It is shocking to believe that no one in the studio had benefitted from the scheme and that is just a little percentage off the Nation’s population.
Asides that, as popular as the scheme is claimed to be, it is very clear that it’s only a very small percentage that benefit from it. The Ordinary President who was as blunt as possible while putting to mind broadcasting ethics called the attention of the officials to the fact that Nigerians expect more from them but are disappointed.
The scheme is meant to serve the masses who find it hard to pay for treatment but is serving the rich because they (NHIS) officials are scared of being attacked and wanting to be recognized as being functional where in the real sense, they are not.
He advised them to improve on their services and devise means to serve the citizens well. In response, Mr. Omar defended NHIS by saying the organization has been functioning well and was recognized by SERVICOM as one of the most improved service providers.
He added that NHIS regulates hospital boards and take complaints from patients to correct where necessary. For further complaints and inquiries, log on to www.nhis.gov.ng.
Emeka Ezeugo, an ex-international footballer based in the USA called in to release more surprising and interesting stories about NFF. He started by saying that, if corruption is not properly addressed, bad things will eventually become a norm and it will be acceptable.
He revealed that the State FA Chairmen were given $20, 000 each during Amaju Pinnick’s first election into the office and after four years, they went to Sokoto for reelection and he gave $30, 000 to each of them.
He also said that a good number of the Nigeria Sports media practitioners have compromised the ethics of their career and have turned out to be cohorts of Amaju Pinnick.
He added that the captain of the Super Falcons; the Nigeria National Women Football team, Desire Oparanozie was unlawfully removed from the team because she protested for the rights of the female team.
The IG Liaison broke the most exciting news to the members of the Brekete Family. He said the abducted daughter of the couple from Gwagwa has been found. It is recalled that the couple complained of their missing daughter who was allegedly abducted by a new neighbor of theirs.
Mr. Silvanus stated that on the 3rd of July, his daughter had gone to the market in the company of his neighbor’s wife and has not been sighted since then. They later discovered that the husband had gone out earlier to work but must have connived with his wife to abduct the young girl unsuspectingly.
The IG Liaison, SP Salisu Agaisa said that during the investigation, it was discovered that the girl was sold off and at the moment, the criminals have been apprehended and they provided useful information that helped in recovering the missing child.
The Ordinary President commended the Nigeria Police for its laudable achievement in the arrest of these criminals.
