“MY COMPANY ABANDONED ME FOLLOWING THE LOSS OF MY HAND”

The complainant  in this video claims to have lost his hand in an accident while driving his company vehicle and he also asserts that the company has failed to provide compensation for the sustained injury. According to his account, he was employed at Royal Mass, a transport company operating between Abuja, Lagos, and Abakaliki. The narrator alleges that he spent over a month in the hospital undergoing treatment, ultimately resulting in the amputation of his damaged hand an injury he secure while on the job.

Expressing dissatisfaction, he states that the company’s response has been minimal. They visited him only once during his hospitalization, and subsequent attempts to contact them have been met with silence. Additionally, he reveals that the company has proposed a meager compensation amount of N20,000 for the incident after all attempt to get them to compensate him for the injury secured.

Following the complainant’s narrative, Consultant Iyke contacted a manager from the Zuba branch in Abuja to discuss the plea and obtain the company’s response. The respondent, representing the accused company, asserted that when the man was involved in the accident, it was another driver responsible for the collision who took care of his hospital expenses. The manager stated that, since the incident, the company had already paid the complainant the sum of N30,000.

In response, Consultant Iyke acknowledged that the company’s compensation was inadequate. After a thorough discussion, the respondent, who is the manager of one of the company’s branches, pledged to assist the complainant in obtaining a more just and appropriate compensation for his situation.
